Steven Gerrard says tomorrow evening’s match against Malmo may be the biggest his side have faced together.
With a spot in the Champions League play-offs at stake, it’s hard to disagree with him. And thanks to a late Steven Davis goal last Tuesday, the Ibrox side have an attainable task ahead to overturn Malmo’s 2-1 lead.
As well as doing that, they must be wary of conceding in a similar fashion to last week.
To open the scoring in Sweden, Malmo dragged the Rangers defence across the pitch and positioned their wide central midfielders intelligently to create overloads.
Their second goal was a result of intelligent pressing, triggered by a wayward central pass.
Joshua Barrie talks through three tactical trends Gerrard and co will be wary of ahead of the return leg tomorrow evening.
